The sitting dock start is probably the easiest way to start off on the cable. Just sit on the dock and lean away a little, but don’t not put too much tension on the rope as this tends to make the rope snap off the cable.

As the cable approaches, keep the nose of the board up and back knee a little bent. Once the rope catches, sit off the dock and continue to lean away from the direction of travel, keeping your handle in. Stand tall only after you know that board is planing properly on the water.

If you’re catching the edge alot, you’re probably trying to stand tall too early.
