R.I.P. Kevin Tan

Kevin Tan was a local wakeboarding legend. He started his career right after National Service as a waterski instructor in the mid 90s at Sembawang and shortly after, picked up the wakeboard when it was introduced into the scene. He had an amazing talent when it comes to wakeboarding with his easy going style and he represented Singapore in several international wakeboard competitions, including the Asian X-Games.

Kevin also started the Launch 2002 Wakeboard School in 2002. Countless number of wakeboarders have gone to his school and he had infected hundreds if not more with his jokes and his laughter but more importantly, he inspired wakeboarders from around the world to keep riding.

Kevin Tan passed away peacefully on 1st October 2020 at home with his family by his side. He had been battling late-stage liver cancer since he was first diagnosed at the end of July 2020.

Kevin leaves behind his mother, brother, nephew and his girlfriend.
