The first half of the Front to Fakie is the same as a regular HS Front Flip. About halfway through your rotation, take your front hand off the handle and let your front shoulder drift away while pushing the handle towards your back hip. It may be a little tricky to spot the water for this trick, so just get prepared to land switch as you come around keeping your knees soft on landing.

You can actually release the handle fairly early in this trick. As long as you know you have gone inverted, you can let go off your front hand. You don’t have to wait till you spot the water first. If you know that you’ve got good air but you are sliding out on your heels on landing, then releasing the handle earlier should help.
